Yaya Toure future in doubt as Man City close in on Dortmund midfielder

Monaco v Man City

Doubts has been cast over Yaya Toure’s future at Manchester City following reports linking the Borusia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan with a move to the Etihad.

The Manchester Evening News state that the meeting between Gundogan’s agent and Manchester City could signify the beginning of the end for Yaya Toure’s glorious career at the club.

Pep Guadiola has agreed to join Manchester City as manager next season and the Spanish manager offloaded Toure during his spell at Barcelona.

Manchester United and Liverpool are also keen to sign Gundogan according to the Metro.

Gundogan was heavily linked with a move away from the Bundesliga giants last summer but instead signed a one-year extension.

The 25-year-old has six assists and three goals in 32 appearances for Dortmund this season. Gundogan career began at Nuremberg before moving to Dortmund for £4m in 2011.

Yaya Toure joined City from Barcelona in the summer of 2010 for £24 million.
