Arda Turan suspended for first Barcelona Champions League game

Barcelona team news

Barcelona star Arda Turan will finally be able to play for the reigning La Liga champions in January after the FIFA transfer ban imposed on the club is lifted.

The bearded winger is expected to make his league debut against Granada but will have to sit out the first Champions League Last 16 game due to injury.

Turan was sent off against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final stages last season.

Barcelona will play their first Champions League Last 16 game on 16/17th of February, or the 23/24th.

The 28-year-old was part of the Atletico Madrid side that reached the Champions League final that ended up losing to rivals Real.

Turan has yet to play a single game for Barcelona due to the FIFA transfer ban currently imposed on the club.

Barcelona were able to sign Turan on a five-year deal from Atleti over the summer but were unable to register him due to the ban.
