Arsenal set sights on Lewandowski while Mesut Ozil open to Real Madrid move

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil Arsenal transfer news

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has set his sights on bolstering his attacking options and is keen on signing a star striker this summer according to The Sun newspaper.

However, the French tactician has to keep an eye on Mesut Ozil, who Bild say is open to a move back to Real Madrid. The 27-year-old who joined from Madrid for £42 million back in 2013 has just two years remaining on his contract with Arsenal.

Furthermore, Ozil has so far delayed and stalled contract negotiations which has cast his Arsenal future in doubt.

According to The Times, Ozil is concerned that Arsenal have not competed for major titles in the past two seasons nor have they shown ambition in the transfer market this summer.

The Gunners have won just two FA Cups in the last three years, and finished second in the Premier League last season

Arsenal take on Liverpool in their opening game of the 2016-17 Premier League season this weekend.
