Mesut Özil hopes Besiktas to win the Europa League

Mesut Özil has stated that he hopes that Besiktas will go on to win the Europa League this season. The Arsenal playmaker also stated that it is too early to predict a winner in the Turkish Super Lig.
“Besiktas have been performing extremely well this season,” Özil told the Turkish newspaper Fanatik.
“I watch all their big games and they have been successful in the Europe so far. I am proud of their achievements and hope they go onto win the Europa League.”
“I try my best to follow the Turkish league when I can, there is a three horse race for the title at the moment. It’s two early to predict who will win. I see all three teams as having an equal chance of winning the title this season.”

Beşiktaş knocked Liverpool out of the Round of 32 to progress to this stage of the competition. Club Brugge secured a place in the Last 16 after eliminating Aalborg from the competition.
The Black Eagles have never actually lost against Belgium opposition in Europe however, Brugge remain undefeated in the competition this season.
Özil has scored four goals and contributed seven assists in all competitions for the Gunners this season.
