Nuri Sahin linked with shock Liverpool return

Nuri Şahin could be set for another spell at Anfield according to a report in the Liverpool Echo newspaper.

The report states that Şahin who had a spell on loan with the Red’s from Real Madrid back in 2012,  may follow his former manager to the Premier League.

The Turkish international only lasted six months during his loan spell after falling out with Brendan Rodgers. Şahin was unhappy at being played out of position and left in January to join his mentor Klopp back at Dortmund.

Şahin made his debut for Borussia Dortmund aged just 16, becoming the youngest player to appear in the Bundesliga.

The 25-year-old was selected as the best performing central midfielder in Europe since the turn of the year.

Şahin scored 100 in the CIES Football Observatory’s latest performance rankings. The former Real Madrid midfielder is yet to make an appearance this season after being sidelined by an injury during pre-season.
