Real Madrid have joined the race for Beşiktaş striker Mario Gomez according to the Milliyet.

The report claims that Real are considering strengthening upfront over the winter transfer window and that Gomez has been added to their shortlist.

The Germany intentional joined the Black Eagles on a two-year loan and Beşiktaş have a release clause option which they can activate before the end of the league campaign according to club president Fikret Orman.

Beşiktaş president Fikret Orman however, recently stated the club will only consider offers of €20 million for the experienced striker at the end of the season despite not currently actually signing the player on a permanent deal.

“At the end of the season if any club wants Gomez they will have to offer €20m million or more I mean we are talking about a German international striker who has proven himself countless times at the highest level,” Orman was quoted as saying by Radyospor.

Real could also face competition from Manchester United who have expressed an interest in him according to Telegraph.

Gomez has been in great form for Beşiktaş this season scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in all competitions.
