Senegal national team manager Alain Giresse has resigned from his position according to Kick Off.

“The road has ended, my contract is at an end,” he told reporters after the 2-0 loss to Algeria.

Senegal were eliminated from the competition after losing 2-0 against Algeria in the final group game.

Giresse faced criticism from football pundits in Senegal as well as Beşiktaş striker Demba Ba.

The prolific striker was left out of the Senegal team after falling out with Giresse despite scoring 18 goals in 23 appearances for the Black Eagles this season.

The Beşiktaş striker has four goals in 21 international appearances for Senegal.
