Fenerbahçe sporting director Giuliano Terraneo has been in talks with Pereira.

Pereira won the league title with Greek giants Olympiakos last season but is expected to leave the club.

Fenerbahçe have been closely linked with the Portuguese coach following the resignation of Ismail Kartal.

Pereira will take charge of Portuguese internationals Bruno Alves and Raul Meireles should the deal go ahead.

The 46-year-old coach has also been closely linked with a move to Scottish giants Rangers according to the Daily Record.

Fenerbahçe finished the league season as runners up and booked a place in the Champions League play-off stages.

The Istanbul giants will participate in European competition for the first time in two years after serving their UEFA suspension.
