Mesut Ozil provides most key passes for Arsenal during Swansea defeat

Arsenal’s title hopes took a dent yesterday evening following a 2-1 defeat at home to Swansea City.

Mesut Ozil played the full 90 minutes in his favoured number ten role behind striker Olivier Giroud.

The 27-year-old playmaker failed to register an assist but was once again his sides most creative player.

Ozil provided a total of four key passes during the game, none of which were converted into goals by his teammates. The Germany international received a rating of 6.9 form WhoScored and maintained a passing accuracy of 83%.

Arsenal looked set to record a comfortable home victory when Joel Campbell found the back of the net after just 15 minutes.

However, Wayne Routledge levelled the scored 17 minutes later while Swansea captain Ashley Williams scored the winner midway though the second half.

Ozil has provided 18 assists so far in the Premier League and is just two assists of matching the league record of 20 held by Thierry Henry.
